Chris Volinsky

Data Scientist and Educator

Hi!  I'm a data scientist with 26 years corporate experience building and leading teams to solve data oriented business problems at scale.  In 2023 I joined the NYU Stern School of Business to teach Statistics and Data Science.

I enjoy exploring applications of data science in the real world. My research over the years has focused on a variety of topics: recommender systems, social networks, communication graphs, data visualization, smart cities, and bias in machine learning models.   Full publications list is available by clicking the link above.

I also love skiing, hiking, kayaking, and running - and consider myself an amateur sabermetrictian (application of data science to baseball).  (go Yankees)
